Widget flow in DE & AT
Case 1: Complete dataset provided and Mondu approves payment
In case you have provided us with the data requested on the API, a pending screen will be displayed while our decision engine runs. It will just take a few seconds until we either confirm or decline the payment request.
If the payment has been approved, your customer will see a summary of the payment details and conditions and needs to authorize the payment.
In case the buyer has chosen to pay via bank transfer, we offer the option to add another e-mail address as recipient for payment related e-mails (for example the e-mail address of the accounting department). It is optional, and the order has already been approved.
After authorizing the payment, the customer receives a success message and will be automatically forwarded to the success page.
We will inform you via webhook that the order has been confirmed and provide the payment details required to create an invoice.
Case 2: Mondu declines a payment
The buyer will see the pending screen while we are running the decision engine.
It can happen that our decision engine automatically declines the payment. In this case, the buyer will be informed about the decline and we forwarded the buyer back to your checkout.
The buyer then can choose a different payment method.
Case 3: Buyer chooses to pay via SEPA direct debit
If the buyer selects to pay later via direct debit or in split payments via direct debit, we need to request the bank account data before running the decision engine.
The buyer is asked to enter the bank account data before the pending screen is loading.
Case 4: Buyer chooses to split payments as a payment method
As a first step, the buyer needs to select the number of months in which the order shall be split.
Since we offer split payments via direct debit, the buyer needs to enter the bank account data afterwards.
Case 5: Mondu requests the buyer to enrich the order data for identification
Only if required, Mondu is requesting the buyer to provide additional data for identification.
As mentioned, our aim is to minimize any additional interaction with the buyer, so we only request information, if we cannot run our decision engine otherwise.
We ask you to send as much data as possible in a high quality. Despite, we are continuously improving the experience for the buyer.
Legal form unknown / incomplete
You can send the legal form of the business, nevertheless we are able to detect the legal form also from the company name.
We are not interested in the specific legal form for the majority of cases. We just need to be able to differentiate between public insititutions, registered companies and non-registered companies like sole-trader and GbR in Germany and Austria.
In case we cannot detect a legal form, we request the buyer to select a category.
Depending on the legal form category, we might have to enrich the data set further.
Legal form is non-registered
In Germany and Austria, some legal forms are not registered in the trade register:
- Germany: GbR and Einzelunternehmen
- Austria: GesbR and Einzelunternehmen
In both cases, the company's owner / shareholder are personally liable for the company.
As a consequence, we need to ask in case of Einzelunternehmern for the owner's name and date of birth and in case of a GbR for one of the shareholders name and date of birth.
Legal form is registered and company cannot be identified
If your customer is a registered company (e.g. GmbH), we will try to identify the company in an official registry. In case we are unable to identify the company due to deviations in the company name or address, your customer will have the possibility to search for the company in the official registry.
In rare cases, the buyer cannot find themselves in the official registry. To handle this edge case, the customer can enter their company data manually.
Case 6: A customer exits the Mondu widget
The customer can anytime exit the widget by clicking the cross on the top right and be redirected to your checkout page listing other available payment methods.
